What is Vedic Maths?

Vedic maths is a technique that is used to solve mathematics in a faster and easy way. It is a collection of formulas (sutras) and techniques. There is a total of 16 sutras (formulae) and 13 sub formulas to solve mathematics consisting of algebra, geometry, arithmetic, etc.

Vedic maths was discovered by Indian mathematician Jagadguru Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirthaji between AD 1911 and 1918. His findings were published in his book Vedic Mathematics by Tirthaji Maharaj.

According to studies, while solving problems while using vedic maths we use both of our brains which helps to grow our logical reasoning and over all brain development. As problem solving in vedic maths are carried independently and one’s personal orientation it creates flexibility in our mind. This flexibility is helpful in our social life.

Let us find its uses and importance.

Uses of Vedic mathematics:

  • Mathematical problems can be solved in a faster and easy way.

  • It is time-efficient.

  • Using formulas saves time.

  • It increases the ability to concentrate.

  • It helps to reduce stress.

  • It helps to learn mathematics in a new and effective way.

  • Our both left as well as right side brain are used while using vedic maths.

  • We can solve the problems according to our orientation.

Importance of Vedic mathematics:

  • Difficult and complex problems can be solved in less time.

  • It is an exercise for the brain to keep focused and solve complicated problems easily.

  • It is very useful for mental calculations.

  • It helps in the growth of one's intelligence.

  • Helps in the growth of logical reasoning skills.

  • Due to use of both of our brains it creates flexibility while solving the problems.

Vedic maths is the best way to strengthen one's ability to solve complex and difficult problems. Not only does it reduce stress but also helps to keep our focus and increases our concentration. Algebra, geometry, arithmetic, etc can be solved faster way by using the formulas which are mentioned in Vedic maths.
